Roses Reach for Her

Thanks to Gary, we know that one of the best ways to put Smacky to sleep is by taking her on a stroller ride.

Since the weather is getting better (hallelujah!), she and I are able to walk more, which is helpful on the weekends.

On Saturday evening, Aurora and I walked to Joann's and I posed her by the flowers. Not the greatest composition but there she is, and the beauty of the roses pale in comparison to my darling daughter.

Sunny Sunday

Even though we went out to lunch and everyone was thoroughly stuffed afterwards, Aurora still found room to chew on her frog toy at the park this afternoon.

It was so warm and sunny that I got out Auntie Laurie's hat for protection for Smacky's nearly bald head.

Gary and Arlo worked off their root beer floats with the help of their frisbee. I worked mine off by lounging in the shade with Smacky. And Smacky lifted and chewed, lifted and chewed, and built up her arm and jaw muscles.

Going to the Doctor, Tra La La

Aurora and I went to the doctor yesterday for a rash she has around her mouth. She ended up getting a couple of immunizations, too, but before that we had fun looking at all the decorations, practicing walking, and sitting in the comfy chair.

This picture's fuzzy but you can see how shocked she is at how far modern medicine has come these days.

Shoppin' at Goodwill

My mom and Aurora and I went to Goodwill last weekend. I'll reveal our toothy new friend at a later time, but here is Aurora enjoying her pint-sized shopping cart.

Luckily the carseat fit beneath the basket, otherwise Smack would have had to carry it or worse yet, SIT in it. Horrors!

New Duds

Aurora's fabulous babysitter Sarah got some cute duds for Aurora at a kids' consignment sale this weekend.

Isn't Smacky happy? A toy in each hand an a new green shirt?

The green contrasts nicely with her red peach fuzz, doesn't it? Or maybe I'm just imagining that I can see hair up there.

Tiny Baby

Someone might find this embarrassing when she's 13, but here is a photo of Aurora when she first came home from the hospital- 5 pounds, 7 ounces of tiny smacking baby, her diaper falling off her skinny bottom and her eyes barely able to peer out at us.

Baby Faces

It's funny how babies love other babies, isn't it?

Here is Smacky (right) reading a library book regarding the topic of Babies. Baby faces, to be exact. The page that Aurora's enjoying is the "Sad" page. It's better than the "Angry" page, in which babies are actually punching out their parents with the strength of their anger.

Bedtime? Hell no! (See left photo in book)
