Green Baby

Who loves broccoli?

At least, who loves broccoli when there's nothing else to eat?

Smacky!

Don't Mess with Us

I think the cracker crumbs on her lips diminish the tough look on Aurora's face as she prepares to kick butt on the subway yesterday.

Maybe she was just remembering riding the BART in October because surely there are no ruffians on the zoo train, which is where we REALLY were, unless you count that cheeky squirrel.

Little Pink Baby

What a sunny few days we had last week! (or was it week before last?)
It was warm enough to dress Aurora in her summer duds even at 7am before taking her to Sarah and Demitri's. Here is Aurora at the park with them, enjoying some sun on the way to the library.
She's working on her base tan so she doesn't burn when it REALLY get sunny out.
(Thanks to Gary's sister, one of Aurora's adorable Auntie Lauries, for the headband.)

Hello, Friend!

Aurora's babysitter and photographer extraordinaire took some photos of smacky this week.

Isn't she genial?

Take Your Baby to Work Day

Aurora's babysitter's son has the flu, so Aurora and Gary are staying home today, taking walks, playing, drinking milk and working.

Gary's teaching Aurora his skilz, so I may come home to a revamped computer network and a new terabyte backup system for my desktop, all installed by my brilliant Junior Sys-Admin Aurora Luna.

Probably not, but a girl can dream.

Aurora got off the couch herself this morning, Gary reported. What a clever baby! I'm glad she's decided to go down feet first now instead of head first. It's much less stressful on everyone that way.

Sports Commentator, Aurora Luna

Here are a couple more photos from last weekend at Lents Park.

This top photo shows Smacky staring at Arlo and Gary playing frisbee, and one of them was probably going for an amazing catch. Can you see her taut anticipation?

It looks like he made the catch, as Smacky expresses with her smile of joy at the sheer athleticism of it all.

(Then she begins to vigorously chew on her turtle, which you saw a previous post.)

Roses Reach for Her

Thanks to Gary, we know that one of the best ways to put Smacky to sleep is by taking her on a stroller ride.

Since the weather is getting better (hallelujah!), she and I are able to walk more, which is helpful on the weekends.

On Saturday evening, Aurora and I walked to Joann's and I posed her by the flowers. Not the greatest composition but there she is, and the beauty of the roses pale in comparison to my darling daughter.
